The enviro activist

pointed to the sky

decrying ‘chem trails’

she blamed for the clouds,

as she triggered my asthma,

with her cigarette smoke.

From over the hill

ten inch trout

between his bill

a gull flies toward the lake.

.

Unlikely rescue mission.

against the wharf

and the tourist boy

grins and offers his hand

inviting the hometown girl

Wafting on the cool wind

as I plow through the snow to the car

comes the heavy scent of roses.

I look for the source without success

as the air is saturated with summer

in frosty winter:

Perfumed paradox.
