The football is set, with enthusiastic support,

This is going to be such a great help!

But instead of the football being held at the perfect angle for the kick that sends it through the goal posts,

Lucy has snatched it up again.  She shrugs.

You wanted to kick for THIS game?

Oh no! The game you get to kick for is three months from now!

Just hold your foot up until then, will you?

The band around the head

compresses.

Waves,

lost ideas,

press in,

squish out.

Opportunities extruded

and left behind.

.

.

(Expect more than a few concussion related poems this month)

poem- computer woes November 24, 2017

You ask me for my email address

When given, much to my distress

You claim it’s already registered.

Why yes!  I tell machine, that’s me, for sure!

You ask me for  user name and password

But when I type them, you claim I’m invalid.

Oh, you passive aggressive machine,

You’re not acting like part of this team!

Inside the circuits of your brain

you’re plotting how to cause me pain.

I can hear your fan blade snicker,

as you plot to raise blood pressure.

Oh computer, use your power for good,

and work like the techies claim you should!

.

.

(Another day, another frustrating encounter with technology!)

poem- vibrations November 5, 2014

I feel the vibration

reverberating down my back

drilling between shoulder blades

pushing at my temples.

Simple questions

snarky answers.

Simple expectations

superior refusals.

Patience is very thin

The end of the rope has frayed

Consequences?

Here’s a tent.

and a sleeping bag,

if you’d prefer?

The massage will work

out the kinks,

settle the tension,

return balance,

but when I’m back,

you’ll still be here,

sending out those vibrations

that are breaking down

my nervous system.

poem-squirrel rant August 23, 2014

That squirrel

is ranting like a

furious squeaky toy.

Ten minutes of

castigating harangue

from the willow tree

and no audience but me.

Sometimes

it’s not about a solution;

it’s just about

being heard.

Wading through

trash

in search of gems.

Letters from you

lost in the

dump

since Yahoo

decided everything from

WordPress is spam.

I’m journeying

into a black

Carpal tunnel.
