poem- Sochi shivers February 18, 2014

Snow falling outside the window

Snow falling on the venues at Sochi

While I watch winter,

I dream of hot water:

Olympic bath time.

(They don’t offer a medal for shivering

and that’s my best winter activity).

They lie

across my lids

stuck like  caterpillars

Coyly magnifying

each magnificent blink,

each flirtatious flutter,

adding power to each

sultry glower,

Prepare prey

to be ensnared,

enter and be

rendered helpless,

as I flash

these false

eyelashes.

Today is hubby’s birthday, and I managed to get these lashes back on (last worn on my birthday, see photo above).  They’re fun, but they sure feel weird! 😉

This is absolutely delightful.  Florence Baptist Temple in Burlington, Kentucky, USA sure put on a great show for their Singing Christmas Tree! These young men are quite awesome.  In honour of the beginning of the Christmas season: Enjoy!

Your rose velvet tongue

washes with water, cool and clear

You stretch and strain as if to gather

rain drops-

but stop!

Listen!

as you lick those glistening lips,

Your kisses become unwelcome, quick!

We stand  disgusted and agog:

Don’t drink

from the toilet,

dog!

The Sons of Poetry aren’t quite as efficient as Rhymezone.com, but they’re much more entertaining!

Shall I compare thee July 4, 2012

I know.  School is over the year.  But still, when you come across something this great, you just have to share.  🙂  The referenced poem is at the bottom, just in case you wanted it.

.
SONNET 18. William Shakespeare
Shall I compare thee to a summer's day?
Thou art more lovely and more temperate.
Rough winds do shake the darling buds of May,
And summer's lease hath all too short a date.
Sometime too hot the eye of heaven shines,
And often is his gold complexion dimmed;
And every fair from fair sometime declines,
By chance, or nature's changing course, untrimmed;
But thy eternal summer shall not fade,
Nor lose possession of that fair thou ow'st,
Nor shall death brag thou wand'rest in his shade,
When in eternal lines to Time thou grow'st.
So long as men can breathe, or eyes can see,
So long lives this, and this gives life to thee.

Dear J,

You are brilliant, handsome, and buff!  I’m glad to be married to such a studly dude! ♥  😀 ♥

Ditto!

Biking, back about 12:00

Last time I looked, you were not married to a studly dude.  Anything you need to tell me?
