Your rose velvet tongue
washes with water, cool and clear
You stretch and strain as if to gather
rain drops-
but stop!
Listen!
as you lick those glistening lips,
Your kisses become unwelcome, quick!
We stand disgusted and agog:
Don’t drink
from the toilet,
dog!
Just love humorous endings! Bravo!
😉
hilarious!
I don’t understand why Dusty (the smallest poodle in my house) thinks he should drink out of the toilet. He HAS fresh water in his bowl!
love this! poetry needs more funny, I think
Some fun, some serious- ya gotta mix it up, like life! 😉
my little girl did this as a puppy, and thankfully she outgrew it. but i will say this much – she makes the biggest mess when she drinks – and she sounds like a horse!
Dusty sounds very dainty. He is 15 years old! No reason to start such a thing, and I want none of his kisses now!

Hahah, I absolutely love the ending. I did not see that coming. ^_^ Nice poem!
Good! 😉
Love the humorous surprise ending! LOL!! I get fishy tuna breath kisses from my cats mornings and evenings. For a while Weezer did try to drink from the toilet bowl but thank goodness he stopped! Now both Sylvester and Weezer drink from the water dish.
Good for Sylvester and Weezer. Dusty needs to learn from them! lol
Very funny and accurate. We love our dog but he is really gross sometimes. 🙂
Yup. They are.
Cute! 😉
Lips that touch toilet water shall never touch mine! Clever ending! 🙂
Agreed!
Made me laugh – and the ending is great
Good!
Creative and funny
Glad you like it.

HAHA
If you keep doing that to me I’ll read your poetry backwards!

Nice use of language, love the building of peaceful, beautiful images to the wrenching conclusion — definitely made me laugh!
I’m glad! 🙂
