A dancing kite
bobbing to sky music
strains to not be pulled
back to earth.

You’ve packed the flourishing greenery
Back inside this box you’ve made
A green house cube
stuffed with verdure seeking escape
Seeking opportunity to bloom again
To scatter seed
To create the future.
But you are heedless of this dream;
inside your cube tender greens are safe
From weeds.

I’m weary of tunnels.
Closing in around me,
narrowing the future
to a pinpoint of possibility
ahead of the foreboding train.

You’re a shooting star
tethered to a black hole.
Can you escape the abyss?

I dream sienna
Sunsets drippppppping
Onto rocks
Carving red rivers
That slice down
…………….down
…………….down
…………….down
…………….down
Like blood bathed tears
Slice flesh.
It is a Grand Canyon of pain
River winding edge to edge
Touching grief upon grief
From the top
Black trees silhouette
Against a flaming sky
scorched earth burning
in the beauty of pain.

The
birches are
speckled with new
green. Forest lace.
Bursting with
spring

Baby
you’re far away.
Maybe
you’ll come home with me.
Maybe
it will be.
Baby
I just wanna say
if someday you’re here with me
You’ll be my only baby
and I’ll love you
unconditionally.

(There might be a poodle puppy in my near future. He needed a poem. Maybe his poem should have been “One of these things is not like the others” because like me, he stands out in the group! Guess which one?) 😉

You’re overcast again,
a nearly perennial state,
but I have a colourful umbrella
for contingencies,
and I’m safe from sunburn.
Blue sky is beautiful, of course,
but the texture of tangled
shades of grey offering drama
has some appeal,
in small doses, at least.

poem-hollow March 24, 2016
There are so many hollow places
that feel the lack of you.
I want you like water,
fill me up,
make me a waterfall,
creating hollow places in my travels.

poem-fingers March 20, 2016
Your fingers are dancing
across the keyboard and your
melodies waltz through the air
tickling me to wakefulness.
