The dogs collapse

in hot heaps.

Summer’s simmering

settles into evening

breeze, but

the sun drops

ever earlier,

and autumn calls.

I have been noticing my house is getting chillier in the morning. Kind of sad, but also happy. I love fall, but I’m always sad to see summer go

  5. Love this poem, and so glad I can read it…I was confused the other day by some password protected thing and thought I had lost access to your blog for some reason, a prospect which would dim the light of my day considerably! ๐Ÿ™‚
thanks for what you give each day

Wait a minute, did we really have a summer? It has been cooler here in the mornings and nights. Thank you Shawn.
