in hot heaps.
Summer’s simmering
settles into evening

the sun drops
ever earlier,
and autumn calls.

Ah! Excellent solution! π
I like this π
I have been noticing my house is getting chillier in the morning. Kind of sad, but also happy. I love fall, but I’m always sad to see summer go
Yes. I think I’m beginning to feel a sense of dread seeing all my freedoms about to disappear as school starts up, so work takes over, as well as my Masters courses. After Labour Day, I will have one day off a week until December, and that day will be packed with creating courses, doing university assignments, and keep up my writing tasks.
Sounds like my life a little bit lol
π
I’m liking the light washed mornings in the lead up to Spring π
Ah well. In the Southern Hemisphere, you’re coming onto the good seasons, as we see the end in sight…
And so the wheel of life turns π
>>sigh<<
We wait for autumn!
I would rather it took quite a while. I need more summer to accomplish all I planned to do in August!
I need the monsoons!
That seems like an odd statement to me.
Why do you need a monsoon?
Odd? No… June-September is when we have the South-West monsoons. This is the rainy season. The main one. We have had very little rain this year. The SW monsoon covers the country. Between December and Jan, we have the North East monsoon, which touches NE India and South india. It is the weaker monsoon season. The directions indicate from where the winds blow. The origin.
Yes, but aren’t the monsoons extremely destructive, causing flooding, land-slides, etc?
They cause destruction – landslides – only when our fellow human beings mess up the mountains. Flooding yes. From time to time. I have experienced this once, indirectly.
So the benefits outweigh the problems? Benefits are… cooler air? irrigation?
Yes. They are indeed…
Love this poem, and so glad I can read it…I was confused the other day by some password protected thing and thought I had lost access to your blog for some reason, a prospect which would dim the light of my day considerably! π
thanks for what you give each day
Sorry about that one. I posted some stuff for a cover designer to check out.
Awesome piece of art Shawn.
Thank you.
Wait a minute, did we really have a summer? It has been cooler here in the mornings and nights. Thank you Shawn.
My pleasure.
It’s been hot here- mid-high 30s C (ie nearing 100F) most of the last month. Our A/C died. $4k to replace. Ouch. But we’re cool again!
Ouch is right! But better than sitting a tub of ice. Have a great weekend Shawn!
