And here begins

another new calendar,

Yesterday just the same,

but everything new, they say.

No hurt to take today

to contemplate,

what has been,

what is,

what may be.

No hurt to take today,

to ruminate,

to declare

that this twelve months

will bring unprecedented

opportunities,

successes beyond expectation,

joys that cause hearts to sparkle,

health in abundance.

This twelve months

will bring contentment

and satisfaction

appreciation,

and celebration.

This day is wrapped in grey,

tied with a bow.

I know that whatever I say

you must decide whether

to find gloom in the grey,

or bloom in the glow of the bow.

Magic is all in your head, all about two things, imagination and will.  You have to focus on your desired outcome and you have to have the will to make it happen.

~Jim Butcher in Dresden Files, Welcome to the Jungle

Sounds like hard work and passion is magic, doesn’t it?  Hmm.  He might be onto something here.

What wasn’t

When she opened her eyes

Was what she’d wished for

For so long

That wishing was all she had.

What was

When she opened her eyes

Was what she’d been blind to

For so long

That wishing was all she’d had.
