How do you find
the magical opportunity that transforms you?
How do you find
the courage to release your words
trust your ideas
show your vision.
How do you find
those places, waiting for you?
How do you find
the magical opportunity that transforms you?
How do you find
the courage to release your words
trust your ideas
show your vision.
How do you find
those places, waiting for you?
A modern Orwellian
metaphor,
you scientist
of faith.
You hold content within your mind
evolution;
creation.
Visible genetics of intersex
counted on chromosomes;
the old testament binary code.
You hold seven days;
dinosaurs.
Believe in hypotheses, blind studies.
Worship in blind faith.
See God in the Fibbonacci sequence,
fractals,
crystalline symmetries.
Hermetic hermeneutics:
Paradoxical predicament.
That is you.
I know it.
You thought it was a secret,
clung to it,
revelled in the glory of it.
Joy to the world.
Right?
Trust it’s not the only thing.
Naturally.
Oh, baby blues sparkle.
You see the darkness,
and turn your back.
No slackers here.
No secrets sneaking from those cracks.
Oh, I know.
That’s you.
My feet are too big
Those great shoes would look like canoes.
I’m too fat
no one would hire me.
My memory sucks
I could never share my words.
I can’t.
I’m not good enough.
I’m not.
SCREAM!
Seize your power!
Seize your words!
Scream them out!
Drown out self-doubt!
You are!
You are!
You ARE!
You are worthy.
You are worth it.
You are the only you.
You are the
only
you.
We
need
you
to embrace the you
we believe in.
We believe.
We believe
in your voice:
SCREAM!
We have been shattered into pieces
divisive patter has demeaned us
Let’s commit to redeem peace around us.
In this room
In this city,
Let our faith bloom in the gritty places
Among all creeds and races.
Let our Rotary service
shine to all who observe us.

It’s not in the wishes.
It’s in the moments.
The reality.
The day to day.
It’s in consistency.
Trust me.
It walks
behind you.
It coils
between your thoughts.
It surges
unexpectedly.
But you have power
to protect yourself.
Vigilance.
Faith.
You think it’s a good idea to help someone out,
to help friends stay together..
So she wasn’t the first choice; it was a nice thing to do,
and she was thankful, for a little while,
but then she grabbed at other opportunities,
shunned the faith entrusted in her.
And in a desperate time,
abandoned the team.
I didn’t want her back. Disloyalty is the greatest wrong.
To accept responsibility and then on a whim to leave,
throws trust back at the giver, laughs at them.
But she returned, and slowly trust was growing,
but here we are again.
Repeating the story.
It’s simply a lack of integrity when your commitments
mean nothing. We are to train our students in ‘soft skills’
for the new workforce. Here’s an important one:
be reliably trustworthy.
If you demonstrate a lack of commitment,
you will never get a good recommendation,
because no one will be committed to you.
It’s hard to earn trust and too easy to destroy it.
Once your lack of honour has been displayed,
you wear it like a beacon that declares:
disloyal!
There is security,
profoundly deep,
knowing that whatever
needs to be done
will be done,
without me having to ask.
.
There is gratitude,,
profoundly deep,
knowing that whatever
I need
will be met,
without argument.
.
There is peace,
profoundly deep,
knowing that whatever
happens, I can trust you,
to be there.
