Usually too territorial to rest together,
twenty Red winged blackbirds,
tremble upon the tips.
One bush, in early spring,
a yellow, red and black bird bouquet.

Such a strange sight as I was driving home from Vernon last weekend! And hey! Red winged blackbirds are the first sign of spring! YAY!

This week I’ve been cheering pictures of snowdrops and daffodils appearing as signs Spring is about to break. Ten minutes ago I was told we have a snow forecast for tonight.I wonder if that’s the last thing Winter can throw at s before she takes a vacation.

We still have a good foot of snow in our yard, but by the end of February winter is usually done with us, so fingers crossed for 10 degrees C the next few days!
“bird bouquet” – that is just beautiful. Thanks for sharing this lovely poem!
The birds gave this Bird a bouquet. (Ok. That’s just silly. lol)
No its really sweet! Lovely poetry! keep it up – and sense of humour is important too 🙂
Good to see them flying around and heralding Springtime as opposed to the four and twenty baked in a pie!!
lol
That would certainly be a sight to see. I’m envious.
Never seen it before. It made quite an impression! There was a red tail hawl sitting on a low tree 40-50 yards away, and I wondered if he had something to do with it, but I don’t know. Also saw a bald eagle standing in a field staring at the dirt on that drive. The birds are doing all sorts of weird things this spring!
A beautiful sight!
It was!
