What wasn’t

When she opened her eyes

Was what she’d wished for

For so long

That wishing was all she had.

What was

When she opened her eyes

Was what she’d been blind to

For so long

That wishing was all she’d had.

  1. Great poem for a cold frigid arctic day here in New York. We in the North east portion of the United States are trying to keep warm and waiting for this sub zero polar vortex to go away!! Wishing for summer! Sigh…………
