Mist drifts on snowy mountains,

slash piles burning:

molten eyes in a ghostly face

glowing above us

    Change in the environment

    • No, this is the normal time for snow in the hills, and the logging companies burn their slash piles when the fire danger is low from the moisture of the snow. The glow is spooky, though!

    just 17 words, and so vivid. Eerie, yes. My favorite line: “molten eyes in a ghostly face” …
