The porch swing rocks

beneath a speckled sky.

Mosquito hums fill the air;

black wings swoop overhead

in invisible rustlings,

swallowing music.

    I began reading your blog posts last week and really enjoy them. The poetry is simple and leaves me with sharp images to think about. Sometimes, I wonder if you’ve been in my head! Thanks for writing them and sharing your thoughts with us!

  2. I love this!! I had a picture of this porch swing in my mind as I read this – and it reminded me of my Nana’s house. Thanks for that!

    I love this poem and in fact, I like the richness of your entire blog. Your breadth of creativity astounds. Thank you for visiting my blog. I started my blog just over a week ago and you were the first one to “Like” my poems. By following my blog, you have inspired me to write even more.

    • That is good to hear, JM, because that is precisely the reason I follow lots of blogs. 🙂 I love to encourage folks to continue to put their words out there, and I know how much I appreciated my first followers! 🙂 (and still appreciate new followers, of course!)
