You look at my
half-empty glass
shake your head,
insert a straw,
blow in laughter and love,
and make my happiness
bubble up until it
overflows.

The straw imagery is clever and whimsical and sweet, all at the same time. Makes me regret the times I told my kids to stop blowing bubbles in their milk.
I loved blowing bubbles in my milk… ๐
Well, truthfully,
I LOVE blowing bubbles in my milk.
Just what I needed right now. Spent 45 minutes driving in circles trying to meet someone for lunch because of a parade, and the person ended up canceling, so I needed a few happy bubbles in my glass. ๐
Happy to oblige! It’s like popping bubble-wrap…
: ) love it
Thanks. I’m glad!
Nicely said!

That is really clever and lovely.
Thanks. It was inspired by a comment on yesterday’s blog poem. ๐
A delightful metaphor! Very clever and amusing. Well done.
Thank you!
Sorry if you saw this already. Just wanted to share a common thread.

Thanks. ๐
Loved it! Now I’ll know what to do the next time I see a half-empty glass.

ShawnBird,
I love this. It’s the world from a sense of joy. This is infectious. I wrote a poem (not yet on my blog) but about a similar thing. Yours is wonderful and visceral in its relationship to the reader. It’s also about the joy of relationship. All my best, Noel
Thanks! I’m glad you enjoyed it.
