I don’t know you

and now I never will.

I wanted to.

.

Now you’re gone forever

and I will never

know you,

love you.

.

But I will grieve

for what

might have been.

  2. This poem really speaks to me. It makes me think of the relationships that might have been but ones I’m too afraid to make the next step. I think many of us feel safe inside our dreams or our imaginations but cannot go forward in the real world.

      Yes. Like the French song “My Ideal” by Maurice Chevalier… “Will I recognise the light in her eyes, the one who is my ideal… or will I walk right by, and never realize that she is my ideal.”
