I don’t know you
and now I never will.
I wanted to.
.
Now you’re gone forever
and I will never
know you,
love you.
.
But I will grieve
for what
might have been.
I don’t know you
and now I never will.
I wanted to.
.
Now you’re gone forever
and I will never
know you,
love you.
.
But I will grieve
for what
might have been.
So beautiful, so poignant…thank you for sharing this.
Thank you for the compliment, and for visiting!
This poem really speaks to me. It makes me think of the relationships that might have been but ones I’m too afraid to make the next step. I think many of us feel safe inside our dreams or our imaginations but cannot go forward in the real world.
Yes. Like the French song “My Ideal” by Maurice Chevalier… “Will I recognise the light in her eyes, the one who is my ideal… or will I walk right by, and never realize that she is my ideal.”
So sad…perhaps another time in another place…
I’m glad it touched you. Thanks for visiting.
Lovely!
Peace. xo
