snow on the blog December 3, 2012

I confess, one of my simple joys is that come December, it snows on my blog.   I love how the little white dots drift through the post, in serene ambivalence of the topic or tone of the blog entry itself.

I love that it happens every year without me doing anything. I put it in my settings back years ago, and now, like winter,  it comes whether I am ready or not.

This year, December first arrived as a welcome relief to the furious writing frenzy of November’s NaNoWriMo.  It was a delight to look onto the blog, and see the peaceful ‘flakes’ drifting across my posts.  Tranquility amid technology.

Simple pleasures are the best ones, I think.

  1. While I love the moderate winters on coast, I do miss December snow and have been secretly wishing for a white christmas here. I know its not likely, but I will keep hoping. In the meantime, I will watch your snow falling on the blog – or maybe even put some in mine 😉

It’s feeling strange, as we don’t have any snow here yet, either. We’ve been driving waaaaaay up to Silver Star Mountain to cross country ski on the trails up there. Even there though, you don’t hit snow until you’re almost at the resort, the neighbouring mountains are still bare!

At least that means a clear road for my hour on the highways each day! 🙂
