Astonished eyes
Gushing mouths
They say, “You’re so beautiful.”
Compliments deserve courtesy
“Thank you.”
Warm smile.
Their words are bees,
around a flower.
Droning pleasantries.
You are the only one
who needs to say the line,
and you
do not.
What is beauty?
What fear lies beneath refusal
to see it?
What interpretation of honesty
forces you to decline
to observe it?
Wisdom pours from your soul Shawn xo
The thoughtful pause is the best response.
Thanks, Jim!
Wow. Gave me pause. (Paws?)
So close to home unfortunately.
Sometimes, in our search of beauty and what it means, we forget that it is subjective and could mean different things to different people. So we destroy ourselves to become what we were never meant to be.
Clearly, the piece inspired me a lot! Thanks Shawn =)
Or simply miss the glory because of twisted (self-)perception? If you can’t love yourself, you can’t love someone else. If you can’t accept you own beauty, you can’t believe someone else’s It’s so weird.
The blind of degree cannot behold.
Interesting, isn’t it?
