Four lanes of traffic gush past

the single stunted sunflower

stretching through a cleft in the pavement,

blooming in adversity.

  Thanks. I almost pulled over to snap a photo, since I knew it would become a poem, but I barely going to make my appointment on time, so I couldn’t stop. Besides, the traffic really was awful.
