The clippers heat up quickly
So I shave the dog one body part at a time:
one leg,
two legs,
three legs,
four legs,
one foot,
two feet,
three feet,
four feet,
back,
belly,
tail,
face.
Hot dog ready for summer relief.
It takes longer than a girl
getting ready for a hot date.

Good girl!! I always feel bad that I don’t shave my Siberian cat but I just up the air conditioning…we are both proud of our long manes:) I do however, remember shaving my schnauzer…they run around so much outdoors and need to feel relieved of the summer heat. Hot date, indeed, you must show us a photo.
Shave the cat?
I would presume you want to keep your arms and head!
Haha. I have friends who do have their cats shaved for the summer. Not me
What an innovative poem π Made me smile.
lol
Poor OJ the standard poodle is not smiling, but with his four shaved legs, shaved belly and one shaved foot, he isn’t panting like he has been!
He has been shave-shamed. π hahaha. Hairy story.
A trimmed tail tale.
The topic for another poem π

This made me burst into smiles….ππβ€οΈβ€οΈ tq!!

You are very brave to even attempt this. I tried to give a poodle dog a hair cut one time, it was such a bad hair cut that the poor dog hid under one of our chairs for a month only coming out when people weren’t close enough to see him to well.
lol
At one point I had 3 poodles and there was no way I could afford to have them groomed professionally even quarterly. The secret to success is investing in the professional equipment though. I bought professional clippers ($450) which are an entirely different thing than the $40 pet grooming kits they sell at Walmart, etc.! The right tools for the job always make a difference, notwithstanding the old adage, “It’s a poor workman that blames his tools.” π Here’s one of my favourite posts about poodle grooming:
followed by https://shawnbird.com/2011/04/12/image/ just for entertainment value. OJ was really heavy here! He probably weighs 25 or 30 lbs less these days, at the great age of 15!
cute!
Thank you. π
Shaving, and shearing, teach us patience.
