She fills the sky

with a rainfall of words,

a hurricane of syllables,

a thundering       of sentences.

She brews                     a storm,

but he stands impermeable

in silent eloquence

amid her eye.

That is fantastic Shawn, a great poem. Well done.

  3. This poem reminds me when I say “I told you so” to my son and he knows I’m right.

We’re men, taught not to express the maelstrom within us, unlike women, who ride its storm and swoop through their world…except if we’re poet guys. Lovely piece, Shawn.

    • Thanks, Joseph. I like poet guys for this reason. My nephew (an English teacher now himself) writes wonderful stuff for his wife (a former student of mine, I introduced him to). I’m occasionally jealous of this phenomenon!
