This is one of those poems I wish there was a “great poem” button instead of a “like” button! But I do admire your skill in capturing the essence of betrayal…you made the fracture lines in me ache with sympathy pains.
The best way to demonstrate great wrongness is through metaphors such as you’ve constructed here. Congratulations for your imagination’s being put to fine use.
She faded into a gossamer ghost. Beautiful. In one line you captured the reality of a woman betrayed, perhaps taken for granted, or worst, maybe she is a battered woman?

Not much imagination required here. I see a girl hiding in plain sight like this every year.

Thank you.

Amazing, you describe something so un-beautiful, so beautifully.
Thanks, Greg. Paradoxical.

Best wishes with your studies.
