You rode your high horse
to water, but you couldn’t make it drink.
You beat that horse
until its flesh was pulverized
and the putrid rot rose in a stench,
repulsing people you wanted to impress.
Still you keep beating
that equine cadaver,
imagining the rattle of its rib bones
is dressage music
for your one trick pony.
I like it. I can’t help thinking that you’re having a go at someone. Am I right?
lol Well. Perhaps just a little. I’m pretty sure there is no chance s/he will be checking out my blog, so it’s more like ranting to the wind. 😉
Then again, what the point of having a blog, if you can’t rant, even poetically, now and then?
I’ve done a bit on my blog as well. It’s a tricky game, one done with caution I feel. The last thing you want is a show done at the ok corral in public. The drama of it.
Nah. The drama was on Facebook, and quickly dealt with using the “Unfriend” key! 😉 Always a useful option. A reasoned discourse from those with differing opinions is quite interesting (we’ve had them ourselves, I recall, Tim) but someone who blindly imagines him/herself to be the seat of all wisdom, and is completely unable to see the profound limits of his/her perspective is just a waste of time.
In England we use the phrase ‘no one likes a smart arse’. Or we call them a ‘know it all’.
Yes. We use the same terms here. I am frequently called a know it all, but I recognize my limitations, and will readily admit them. (I have to, I live with a genuine genius who IS a know it all! lol)
Not only that, it produces a scintillating poem, of that there is little doubt! Sharp, on point, and very good! 🙂
Thank you, Charissa.
“equine cadaver…” Gold!
I envision ‘bleached bone white’ myself. 😉
Yep. That’s a deep rant. From the right pen, language can make a serious cudgel.
Indeed.
THAT was a strong one… I always have a preference for the “darker” stuff… Such great imagery in that one, if you ponder its meaning. 🙂
Thank you.
Wow, intense! I like! Way to channel your frustration (disgust?) into something sharp, quick, and poignant. Whoever it is, they felt the mighty pen pierce them right in the truth, on some psychic level.
lol I doubt it, but thanks! 😉
