I picture would have been nice, I guess I’ll just have to use my imagination.

    • lol. I was studying the trees on the hills across the lake as I was driving to work, and thinking how with their dusting of snow they looked like flecked grey flannel. Your imagination is up to the challenge! ๐Ÿ™‚

I use a flannel to wash my face sometimes. From my google search it seems like it’s a type of fabric. Being a man an all, I’m not that familiar with different fabrics. Perhaps this is more of a female poem. I do like short poems of only three lines.

      • Grey wool flannel is frequently what boys’ school uniform pants are made from in the UK. You’ve likely seen it regularly.

      • timthepoet's avatar timthepoet Says:

When you say pants you mean trousers I presume? Pants mean something different here.

      • lol Do you use pants to mean ‘underpants’? Yes, grey flannel trousers. We don’t say ‘trousers’ here. I’ll have to ask the teens at school if they even know the word.

      • timthepoet's avatar timthepoet Says:

Yes , here pants means underpants. Surely everyone knows the word trousers. Perhaps I’m wrong.

      • It’s not in common speech here. Those who are well read will know it, but average teens and kids? Probably not. Most of them will know the term flannel though, since children’s pajamas and winter sheets and shirts are made from cotton flannel.

Beautiful piece! So strange when I saw your writing tonight as I too referenced “palette”. Must be something in the universe coming through us ๐Ÿ™‚
