A leaf on the drive way

A large golden heart

No trees nearby match its shape

It is a

a love letter

from the wind.

I’ll never be so hasty to clear my drive of leaves. Beautiful thought.

    • One lone, six inch golden heart, at my feet when I opened the car door yesterday. We studied it with interest, as there is not a single tree within sight of our yard that looks like it could have had such a leaf. Hubby observed, “With that shape, it could have flown a long way.”

I always fall in love with the trees this time of year. There are so many hearts littering the ground it’s hard not to be influenced by the beauty of it. I love the simplicity, peacefulness of this.
