I was listening to George R R Martin’s Clash of Kings on my commute today, and chuckled over this line:
He thought he could smell smoke,
though perhaps it was just the
scent of his nerves fraying.
Do you ever have days like that?

Good line!
I can certainly empathise!
Impossible!
Love this series! There are some great lines in there 🙂
There are! The worst thing about listening to the series as I’m commuting back and forth on the highway is that I can’t dog-ear the page to find the great quotes afterwards! The piece of highway I travel is so dangerous I don’t even dare glance down to hit the ‘book mark’ button.
I have the same problem, just wait until you get to A Storm of Swords, that book is incredible! Drive safe!
Oh dear. More trouble ahead!
Yes – sometimes I feel like a walking campfire. 😉
lol! 🙂
I also like GRRM’s writing. Nice quote
He certainly has a load of loathsome characters!
Yes he does.
I actually do smell smoke sometimes when there is no smoke and it is usually my hormones frying… one symptom I forgot to list in my blog about hormones.. so yes I do believe it is possible.
I’m always smelling burnt toast and worrying I’m having a stroke, but luckily, so far it’s always actully been burnt toast…
