She wants him to journey

through her, trail his fingers

along paths of discovery,

raise mountains of delight,

explore lingual caverns,

create tsunamis of desire.

But travelling is work,

and he’s not up to the flight.

poem-incised February 5, 2015

You find the perfect spot

for maximum irritation

you rip apart the incision

determined to arrest healing.

I long to rip you off,

toss you away,

have air and water and space

surround me,

to heal the gash

and help to find my footing again.

.

.

.

Dedicated to my Aircast® which has a air tube glued right at my incision line.  This is a painful irritation!  Yeah, yeah.  So I’m being literal.  Nothing is stopping you from taking it figuratively.  That’s what poetry is all about!  🙂

The light is behind you

and you are a glorious silhouette

You see only shadows,

but we see beauty.

I’m twisting yarn,

clicking knots together,

entwining future warmth

and comfort

Your morning eyes

still full of night

fall on me

soft as sunrise.

The layers

speak of neglect

and distraction,

of time passing.

Traces of us

settle on ledges

and I am loath

to find a cloth

and wipe us off.

So you packed your canoe,

left a good man,

gave away that puppy,

you’d given to

those good boys,

those sweet little boys,

and rowed off to find yourself

on a river of their tears.

I hope the discovery

proves worth it

in the end.

Grey weight

drags me down

velcro-ed to cement

hobbled like a donkey

held together

by hope.

Belly and breasts cascade

over  ample hips.

The glass reflects

Jabba the Hutt lying in state

in my living room.

That is unexpected.

Outside the snow is deep.

Inside, a ladybug crawls up my computer cord

All eighteen spots out of place,

It launches off my computer

having delivered a moment of grace.
