“You’re young.”

“You can try again.”

“There was something wrong.”

“It’s probably for the best.”

Their kindly meant words are spikes.

They smash through her grieving heart, splintering and crushing.

    Oppression

    I am a strong, intelligent, rational woman but I am oppressed. He is subtle about how he pulls me down, makes me feel insecure. I rebel. He’s got to go.

    This one resonates with me. People say these things, because they think they’re being kind, and they don’t know what else to say. They’re wrong. Just say, “I’m sorry”, and leave it at that. 🥺
