“You have to write the book that wants to be written. And if the book will be too difficult for grown-ups, then you write it for children.”
~Madeleine L’Engle
How profound is this? And what a truth! Some of the most powerful literature is written for kids. It challenges thinking and shines a light on what the world is like, encouraging them to question the status quo and make changes to improve society.
Kids literature is a misnomer ~ some of it is incredibly powerful. 💖
It’s interesting that things too great for adults to read can easily be taken in by kids.
A child’s world grows exponentially when filled with amazing books to read. Reading unlocks a student’s mind to open it up for much learning and future success in school and beyond.
Indeed. Reading is the number one marker of academic success. The greatest gift we can give our children is early exposure to literature. Then, value it and keep it going!
Right on!! Best wishes with your teaching and writing.
Like this. It’s true too.
Couldn’t agree more.
