poem- indeed December 21, 2017

there is a moment

when hushed memories sneak,

creeping behind you.

You hear the creak, and turn

to find those lost

those missed,

those grieved.

They’re whispers caught

on remembered phrases,

favourite songs;

you’re sure you hear their voices.

Indeed, there are moments

when ghosts hover;

in memories

their love remains.

    I love this, Shawn. Have felt this lately. Thank you for putting words to it.

  2. So many beloveds sneak up, in times of ennui, and whisper their signatures.

    Nice internal rhymes…

  4. Melody J Haislip Says:

    So many people I loved have left this time of the year. It used to make me sad for myself, until I decided instead to be happy for them. It’s a whole new world. Shawn, have a merry and healthy holiday season and a Happy and Prosperous New Year!
