Indeed,

there is a moment

when hushed memories sneak,

creeping behind you.

You hear the creak, and turn

to find those lost

those missed,

those grieved.

They’re whispers caught

on remembered phrases,

favourite songs;

you’re sure you hear their voices.

Indeed, there are moments

when ghosts hover;

in memories

their love remains.

    I love this, Shawn. Have felt this lately. Thank you for putting words to it.

    So many people I loved have left this time of the year. It used to make me sad for myself, until I decided instead to be happy for them. It’s a whole new world. Shawn, have a merry and healthy holiday season and a Happy and Prosperous New Year!
