I looked for you.
I peered deep into your eyes
searching.
You were not there,
the hollow globes blinked blankly,
soul flown,
arms embracing expectation
empty future.
I looked for you.
You were not there.
Tomorrow I will look
again.
I looked for you.
I peered deep into your eyes
searching.
You were not there,
the hollow globes blinked blankly,
soul flown,
arms embracing expectation
empty future.
I looked for you.
You were not there.
Tomorrow I will look
again.
This can happen with those in an impaired mental state- though I think you are referring to someone loved and departed.
You’ll never know the root… but that’s because it doesn’t matter. What matters is what the reader finds.
That is the beauty of true poetry- that it can speak to individuals, where they are.

This poem is really – 💕.
I felt connected with your words.
I’m glad.
