In my dreams
two cookies appear on my plate
when I glance down
I have eaten one.
In dismay I think
I just won’t eat the other,
but next glance,
it is gone, too.
I think, how strange, I eat
without even noticing.
That’s a bad habit.
(39 days on the diet–twenty pounds down–apparently my subconscience craves cookies?)
Yes. This illustrates something I’m quite familiar with. Nice insight.
ha ha! this happens to me when I am awake!
Un huh, mindless grazing. It adds up.
Good thing it’s only happening in my dreams. lol
I too have phantom cookies- but mine disappear when I leave the house- I’m sure my children at home have nothing to do with the disappearance;)
Those are very yummy dreams.
Sadly, no flavour on the breath in the morning!
What a delicious little morsel. 😉
This happens all the time! !!
Doesn’t say much for the cookies.
Bravo! I think I must be eating in my dreams, as my diet is highly unsuccessful
Or maybe I am the unsuccessful dieter, like i sent the coment before I meant to; so now you got two… i go on a diet one I want so much to be perfect at. After the first two weeks of nice 2lb a week loosing the pounds I begin to put it back on. Now your poem has made me think *scratches chin* am I subconsciously eating the food I’m imagining? *sigh* some people have such vivid imaginations. 😉
lol I started on the medically supported program Ideal Protein which is run locally by The Drop Zone. If you’re in North America, check it out by searching your town and Ideal Protein for find a clinic offering it. I am pleased with the daily doctor tidbits about physiology and nutrition, the weekly meetings with a coach, and the carefully balanced meals.
I’m in England but thank you and good luck.😇
All the best, Ellen!
(In your case, is that a pun?!)
I like the idea of the ‘eat what you need’ diet, so nothing is off the menu as long as you don’t over eat and actually eat what you fancy.
It’s all about learning the tricks to learn how to listen to your body and figure out whether you’re hungry, thirsty, or just bored.
