In my dreams

two cookies appear on my plate

when I glance down

I have eaten one.

In dismay I think

I just won’t eat the other,

but next glance,

it is gone, too.

I think, how strange, I eat

without even noticing.

That’s a bad habit.

(39 days on the diet–twenty pounds down–apparently my subconscience craves cookies?)

I too have phantom cookies- but mine disappear when I leave the house- I’m sure my children at home have nothing to do with the disappearance;)

Bravo! I think I must be eating in my dreams, as my diet is highly unsuccessful

Or maybe I am the unsuccessful dieter, like i sent the coment before I meant to; so now you got two… i go on a diet one I want so much to be perfect at. After the first two weeks of nice 2lb a week loosing the pounds I begin to put it back on. Now your poem has made me think *scratches chin* am I subconsciously eating the food I’m imagining? *sigh* some people have such vivid imaginations. 😉

I like the idea of the ‘eat what you need’ diet, so nothing is off the menu as long as you don’t over eat and actually eat what you fancy.
It’s all about learning the tricks to learn how to listen to your body and figure out whether you’re hungry, thirsty, or just bored.
