She says she’s not waiting for a handsome prince
and laughs like she’s joking.
But she had a handsome prince
and she she treated him like a frog,
so if one was to come along now,
I’m pretty sure she wouldn’t even recognize him.

Nice, a different twist. I like these lines- “But she had a handsome prince
and she she treated him like a frog” … Sometimes we’re looking for a prince, and he’s right before us.
Yes, one see what one looks for. If you expect bad, that what you’re more likely to get. If you look for the positive, that’s what you’ll notice.
That knife cuts both ways. Many a princess has found herself cast in the dust.
Sure. But this time, it’s the princess who was grumbling.
I always wonder if you’re writing these bits about people you actually know. It makes me want to know the whole story, and meet the lady who treated the prince like a frog.
Come visit, and I’ll introduce you… ๐
Heh heh. You don’t offer idle invitations do you? Better watch out or you might have an east coaster on your hands. ๐ฑ
We have a lovely writers’ festival May long weekend. Come on down! (or over, or up, as the case may be). ๐
Wow, that sounds dreamy! A weekend long writers’ festival? My people!
Fantastic, intimate festival. Check it out at http://wordonthelakewritersfestival.com/
In 2014 when we hosted Diana Gabaldon, we had a guest from LA come, and they were so excited, we had volunteer drivers take her from/to the airport. ๐ Usually folks come from BC or Alberta, but all are welcome!
Wow, thanks for the info. It sounds really amazing. I need a fantastic, intimate writing festival in my life.
This is another option for you: http://www.gailanderson-dargatz.ca/cms/index.php/7-news/205-registration-open-for-providence-bay-writers-camp-manitoulin-island
Gail Anderson-Dargatz is a famous Canadian literary author, and she has started doing writing camps at her summer home in Manitoulin Island (the rest of the year, she lives here). I think I heard she has just 2 spots left on the July camp.
There you go planting more fantasies in my head! Sounds amazing. Thank you again, Shawn.
My pleasure, Lorien! ๐
