Perhaps when
. you are dead
I will find a cache
. of hidden love letters,
. diaries,
. poetry
all proclaiming your passionate
. yearnings,
your adoration recorded
. day after day.
Moments captured on paper
. trapped filaments of bliss
. flashes of us through your eyes.
Perhaps
I will find a cache.
Perhaps
. not.
Beautiful
Glad you like it, Gill.
Impressive work, Shawn!
Thanks, Noora!
I like how the bullet points and sentiments work in opposition. Wonderfully understated. Thanks for the great poems.
I don’t know if I should tell you that those are just periods, so WordPress will allow me the spacing I want. If you don’t mark the front of the line, it automatically justifies, even if you space in…
But thanks!
Hi Shawn,
It’s all good as I like the result either way. If you want to do more complex formatting, maybe you could download the poem as a JPEG or PDF.
I could, but since I scroll and capture all the poems as text every few weeks for my own record, that would add additional complications.
Hm, are you doing a hard or soft return at the end of your lines? Also, is there no option to indent?
Enter key- so that’s hard, right? I rarely want a full indent. For example, I may want to add x + 2 spaces at the beginning of each line to shape a poem.
Hmmm…that’s tough. I think you might need to master some HTML to get that effect. A soft return is shift + enter on the mac keyboard. That allows you to keep your lines closer together so that you don’t end up with a lot of wonky double spacing. But indenting 2 spaces in, yikes…I have no idea. Suddenly periods at the beginning of the line are looking more and more appealing.
precisely 😉
Try this…a couple of html codes and the option to use the block quote because that also indents…

I will check it out, but because I’m messing with many lines and want them to do different things, this works. When I’m being particularly finicky about it, I will colour the periods soft grey so they virtually disapper on the page.
I sure hope so. 🙂
😉
Love love love this.
Thank you.
Very nice poem!
Thank you.
Beautifully written 🙂
Thank you, Ifrah.
Checkout my blog maybe? 🙂
I have!
Best wishes with it as you grow in skill and vision! It’s lovely to see young people embracing their passions and putting their words out there.
Thanks a lot!
Perhaps, the living cache of love acts will make this all unnecessary. Then again, it’s nice to have something on which to fall back.
Indeed.
I like the nostalgic feeling I’ve felt while reading this. Very sentimental 🙂
Thank you, Viera!
You deserve the compliments 🙂
Ahhhh, shucks…
🙂
