Her body next to him is not enough

For him to believe in love.

He must believe he is lovable,

in order to love someone else.

If she is worth romancing,

would she be with him?

He must believe he is lovable

in order to love someone else.

If he is unworthy of love, how can

he encourage her to love him

through hearts, flowers, and love letters?

He must believe he is lovable

in order to love someone else.

So true, your words. Lovely poem.

  4. How very true. You cannot really be in love with someone without having love for yourself. lovely read as always Shawn.

  5. Lonewolf's avatar James Dudley Says:

True to it’s title, your poem is all of that. I especially liked the closing line; I resemble that statement very much. Your insight into human nature is special.
