poem-hollow January 31, 2015

Her belly is hollow.

Once it was filled with him,

but she has been excavated

and spun into emptiness.

.

Her head is hollow.

Once it was filled with him,

but she has been desolated

and spun into heaviness.

.

Her life is hollow.

Once it was filled with him,

but she has been devastated

and spun into enviousness.

.

Her hope was hollow.

Once it was filled with him,

but she has been extricated,

and spins into readiness

Quite interesting and unusual poetry Shawn – I love it when I find un-ordinary writing… Thanks for sharing it with us. Hope your evening and your tomorrow are filled with beautiful moments…

    • Thanks, Michael.

I had my first big outing since breaking my ankle, and ended up sleeping 15 hours last night. I didn’t even dream any beautiful moments. I’d say they wore me out! 🙂

  6. This is such a lovely poem. Hollowness sometimes haunts but it is part of everybody’s life. It was wonderful to read this.

I like how the subject of each verse gets bigger as the poem progresses, perhaps showing how it doesn’t always get better in time?
