In the day
they brush past one another,
utter essential words,
questions,
instruction.
But at night,
they brush against one another,
whisper non-essential words,
passions,
exhortation.

utter essential words,

instruction.
But at night,

whisper non-essential words,

Hypocrisy, if you ask me.
Perhaps.
Or perhaps simply reality?
I really like this. It evokes the imagination to think about the scenario, workplace? Illicit or practical? normal home life?… And the differentiation of purpose and meaning of the words that pass between in the two states is lovely.
Thank you.
