You were there

I could tell

I could feel you

in the air.

But when I awoke

the sense of you

was lingering

while the rest of you

was lost.

  1. Wow! This could apply to so many situations. An absent Lover. A Loved one who has crossed over. Dreams that are so real that they cross the line of reality and imagination. Memories accompanied by fragrances and voices so close that you can almost touch the people and pets within. This poem is incredible.

    Simply beautiful. And sad.

  3. Yesterday would have been my wife’s 60th birthday. This is so very apropos.

This is such a beautiful poem. I, too, have those who linger but are no longer here. My heart will always long for a brief word with them and a long heartfelt hug. Thank you
