Wow, incredible imagery. Powerful story, the pull so intense. It made me smile I don’t know exactly why, and yet I feel sad at the same time. Great, so many emotions captured. Thank you!
This piece brings to mind the dancing scene in Singing in the Rain with Donald O’Connor dancing with a mop. 🙂 I have to say – that scene is priceless and the way he danced with her – oops I mean it – I started to believe the it was a her!!
Aha! I knew someone danced with a mop. It’s funny, I think of Donald with a mop and Gene with a light pole! Oy – whatever they may be, they both made their dance partners look human;). Thanks for the fixing my brain:)
Gene was with the light pole, too. And the umbrella. The routine was very well reinterpreted and skated by Kurt Browning in a famous CBC special: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JXtd7xq7URM
Beautifully written! 🙂

I appreciate you taking the time to comment!
This is beautiful!
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it.
I can see it from his side and empathize. He wouldn’t dance for me. Frustrating and sad. Beautiful!
Thanks, Beth. 🙂 It’s all about perspective.
In the study of mechanics one of the bits of theory is summed up by the expression “Every couple has its moment”. So not true for humans!
I think couples definitely have moments. Millions of them!
