I look down
upon the frozen creek
and see a red mitten
bobbing under the ice.

I was hoping for a final twist but still like it.
The final twist happens in the reader’s head, when s/he imagines the rest of the story.
I love this! Every time I see a lost mitten or glove or sock, I wonder how it came to be lost!

This has a flash fiction feel to it – it makes me want to know the story of the “red mitten”
