Today
I watched your smile
twinkling on the seas
I heard your laughter
rustling in the trees
I heard your voice whisper
0n the evening breeze
I saw your image
dancing in the leaves
I felt you everywhere
gifting me with memories
comforting me with peace.

Oh Shawn, such beautiful lines carrying such powerful emotion, so well done.
Thank you.
Thank you so very much for sharing your thoughts with us.
My pleasure.
I love the quick jab your poems always give. Love love.
Thanks Mandi.
Honestly, I’ve read it several times and I feel like its a heart song. Gonna share.
That’s really lovely, Shawn
Thanks.
Quite lovely Shawn but until that stage it’s agony and mostly all you do is wish the person back with you.

Yes, of course. This one is not a fresh grief.
I love this because it feels like such a intimate moment, one that no-one else would know has existed. Beautiful words. 🙂
Thanks, Carrie.
Yes. It’s definitely a private communication.
Shawn you are amazing I was wondering how you manage to reach so many with your thoughts and words.
How kind of you, Sean.
With a name like Shawn you have to be good.
Ditto! 😉

Touching, made my eyes water……
Beautifully eloquent in simplicity. Touching. Thank you.
Thank you, Alexandra.
That is beautiful. We are so lucky to have wonderful memories of loved ones 🙂
Thanks, Leroy.
This is beautiful, Shawn, timely for me, as my Mom passed away over two years ago and her birthday is at the end of this month..a perfect poem for those we’ve lost…
and this is completely “random” but, I also wondered if I said or did something to offend you because I haven’t seen you around my blog in awhile…just thought I’d check in with you. 🙂 Take care, Lauren
Hi Lauren, I hope the words have been soothing for you in this month of memories.
No offence taken! You must not have been posting any poetry lately. I tend to check in with poetry on the reader. I follow a lot of blogs, and I’m doing a masters, working full time, re-connecting with my harp, and working on three writing projects. There’s only so much time in a day! 😉 lol
Yes, they have and I’m so glad I didn’t offend you in any way. I know time is the culprit for many of us and it sounds like your plate is full beyond words! I posted five poems in May and my post on June 1st was more of a fun discussion about blogging, not poetry…anyway, I’m having issues with WP that are giving me a headache and maybe mine aren’t showing up. Who knows? Good luck with all of your projects, wow! I can’t keep up with all the blogs I follow either, along with work, family, dog, my blog and now working on my second book. So I completely understand. Thanks so much for giving me peace of mind, though and take care. 🙂
lol. I’ll make a point of stopping in later in the week!
Whenever you have time, thanks! 🙂
That’s just as it should be when you grieve someone you love. Well done and I’m reblogging.
I’m pleased you would like to share it. Thank you, Carole.
You’re welcome.
