The dog

comes inside,

his belly

mewling like he’s swallowed

a litter of kittens

and their yowling mama.

Is it indigestion,

or did that temptress on the fence

finally fall

into his waiting  jowls?

Uh oh?? And the answer??? An addendum poem?

  2. Is your dog okay? Sometimes my cats barf up stuff. I began giving them kitty pro-biotics about 2 weeks ago. They are senior citizen cats and every so often the Fancy Feast or Whiskas does not digest well. So far this digestive powder is working. I put the stuff in their food and water. Sylvester will kill water bugs but I’ve never seen him eat them. Maybe the critters are too big.

    • I was satisfied by observation this afternoon that pumpkin and bismuth has cleared out OJ’s difficulties- though he still has a streak of pink on his muzzle trying to get away from the bismuth. He much prefers the pumpkin (which is fantastic for cats in gastric distress as well- works for both constipation and diarrhea to settle the digestive process into smooth functioning again).

Someone else was mentioning pet probiotics this weekend. The boys eat a quality locally produced food, but I think OJ picked up a bug at the kennel last week. Too much wild partying with the other campers.

      • Glad to hear that your doggy is getting better. I’ve been giving my cats OptaGest. So far so good. They don’t go outside, even though Weezer does try to escape if the door to the backyard is open, so they don’t associate with other cats but cats are barfy by nature. Hairball city some days. The OptaGest seems to be working. No messes to clean up before I set off for work.

      • lol I’m so glad I’m allergic to cats. 😉

      • I love dogs very much and wish I had room for a couple but alas like many New York City residents I live in a small space so I’ve had cats since 1990. I grew up n a home with dogs and have very fond memories of my beagle Dolly and my German Shepherd mix Bosco. If I ever have the opportunity to live in a house once again I’ll be the crazy Cat-Dog Lady!! LOL!!

      • Lots of little dogs are happy in cat size spaces and will even use a litter box, so it’s possible, but I hear ya.

  3. Made me smile! Did the cat ever turn up? 😉
