Fear not my dear, I was only changing the bulb! Seriously, I liked this poem and do not mean to make fun or diminish it or you. Just some levity to intense emotional turmoil. I have been on those stormy seas many times myself. But I made a promise to myself long a go, I would not write unless it could be resolved or at least leave the reader with even just a slim hope, it would still be hope and that it always more than any of us need.
Perfect for me since I am the Queen of Insomnia!! LOL!! Slumber is most certainly an elusive bird flying away just out of my reach & far beyond my grasp..

Very nice. When I’m tossing, I can hear the distant trains, too… π Thankfully, they don’t whistle going through town in the wee hours.

Ah well. Somedays there is hope, and somedays there is not. We always fall asleep eventually.
I know this feeling all too well. I love the metaphor you have chosen.
Thank you.

It is so frustrating, isn’t it?
This is a perfect representation of being unable to sleep. Great poem!
Glad you liked it.

Thank you, Morgan. I just hope I can sleep in on Saturday morning! π
I always hope that too π
