Lovely!! I was shocked to feel the cold…I must travel to the eastern townships to see the leaves…to you they are hills in BC but here they are mountains ๐ Bon weekend!
My father laughs at Mont Real. But Colline Real doesn’t have quite the same ring, does it? When he was a boy growing up in Montreal, he actually thought that was what a mountain looked like–and then he moved to BC! ๐ Bon weekend a toi!
Whoa!! I know Mont Royale and Mont Bruno are hills…lol but I’m visiting Mount Sutton and Orford this weekend…I was raised in the Eastern townships…with mountains and lakes and rivers:) Salut et bon weekend:)
It was. Yesterday it seemed like everything was still green, and today it’s turned into fall! Around here it’s a slow process though, we generally enjoy the slow changing colours until the end of November.
Ha. Yes, that my lower state ignorance we’re so famous for shining through. Geography is not my strong suit. Heck, it’s hardly a bathing suit. I’m American! But seriously, British Columbia, right? That part of the world is renowned for its beauty.
I’m so glad to live in a place that has them for the allotted time! Here the seasons pretty consistently match the seasons of our Northern Hemisphere calendar. When lived in ‘Northern BC’ (i.e. smack in the middle of BC!) We had snow for 6 months, mud for 4 months, and bugs for two months. Calgary could throw a snow storm at us any time of year. 4 seasons are wonderful.

That cold night was plenty generous–it turns out.

Your “around here” is Canada, no? Mine is Vermont. The green hills are alive with the sound of gold and rust! I know what you mean.
lol. Well… There’s nearly 4 million square miles of Canada; however my ‘around here’ is a small bit of southwestern Canada, yes. ๐

lol Yes, I’m in “Beautiful British Columbia.” On the cover of my haiku book, you can see the vista I admire on my way home from work: https://shawnbird.com/2012/05/27/a-year-in-love/
There’s a moment every year where suddenly I notice- fall is here… like it’s crept up without my knowing. Always beautiful ๐
Just a couple of days ago I wrote a poem about how nothing had turned colour yet! lol
It seems as though the leaves here have turned overnight! This haiku describes the sudden transformation perfectly.
Frost last night, and it changed everything!
Renders a beautiful image of such a wonderful time of year. Nicely done.
Thank you, Dom
Love it! That’s right up there with the 6 word poems. VERY to the point and says a lot. Good job!
Thanks.
Love it! Yep, it really is sometimes that quick isn’t it…I love the seasons… H xxx
