It’s just one day, but
one is all it takes to change
everything. Today.

To change everything,
just one is all it takes–just one,
It’s one day: today.

This is my 900th post on this blog! Yay!
Thanks for being here with me to celebrate the moment!

like this approach – gonna try it myself!
Thanks Leena. I wanted to play a bit with rearranging the lines to see whether it creates a variation in the meaning. Just playing. 🙂
playing = creating 🙂
Super Congratulations Shawn. Haven’t even made 100 yet. All the right thoughts could change the world in one day. Not to your pattern but a thought nonetheless..
Thanks David!
Reblogged this on Shawn L. Bird.
I love writing haikus! The approach you took here is very interesting. I always love the feeling of getting everything I want to say into those 17 little syllables. It always feels like completing a puzzle!
Glad you enjoyed it.
Congratulations on 900! Great collection of Haikus too! Really cool 😀
This is a re-post- we’re up to 1186 now. 🙂 But thanks!
Nice. I’ve been struggling with my own blog. I am slightly concerned about the published edgy content and how that matches with my career goals. With a bit of thought and – quite honestly- your dedication and inspiration on my screen, I have decided to carry on. I just need to be more conscious of the details. I guess you would call that mindfulness? Its been an adventure starting on this blog! Congratulations again to have such a great site!!
I love this kind of word movement, to see what is possible. Have you tried a Pantoum, you’d probably find it interesting as well. http://www.absolutewrite.com/specialty_writing/pantoum.htm It makes you look at the independance of your lines and how they work within your writing.

Thanks, I’ll look into that!
It reminds me of classical music, with variations on a theme.
Oh yes! An excellent analogy! What it was, really, was me trying to figure out which variation I liked the best, and just throwing them all in. 🙂
Wow, I was going to congratulate you for 900 but I am 286 late! So I will congratulate you on that instead! I hope I make it that far, I think I am only at 46!
Love this. One set of phrases re-arranged for different haikus, but they all come together as a great group!
Congrats on your 900th post and a very inspirational haiku.
Thanks. It’s a re-post so I think it’s now 1187, but I accept anyway! 🙂
Funny, congrats on 1187 : )
I love this. I really really love this.
Thanks. I’m glad!
I like how this post shows a contrast of different ways of saying almost the same thing in a haiku.
Thanks.
Dear Shawn, it is an amazing coincidence that I came to wordpress to post my positive affirmation for today, and found it completely in sync with your post. Let us all put hands together to amplify positive vibrations.
Congratulations!
Thanks Monia. Good thoughts to you!
I’m glad. Thanks for visiting my blog today.
congrats on 900 posts.
And your today poems were AWESOME! The series of 4 – playing with the word arrangement – and then integrating the theme of seizing the day and making any needed changes – with this upbeat feel – simple but potent – and layered with encouragement – just so well done.
Glad you enjoyed them
