I want to wrap you around me like a coat.
I want to pull up the hood and huddle closer
to keep out cold realities.
I want to button in the warm assurance
of your body tight against me.
I want to cuddle into the closeness
of your heart next to mine,
and the comfort and contentedness
of being wrapped in your love.

Beautiful! That describes my safe harbor . . . something I am very thankful for. 🙂

An oldie, but a goodie!
Such warming words for a rainy August day! I love the variation in your poetry, how you can write about beautiful feelings such as love but also about ordinary and peculiar stuff, such as migraines. Always brings a smile to my face! x
You’ve summarized it well! I’m about to send 2 collections off in different directions. One is called Him & Her, and the other is called Snapshots. One explores relationships, the other captures moments in words. Apparently, that’s what I write about! 😉
I really like this one.
Thanks, Beth.
I want that too!!!! So much more than I share online, or off. So fortunate are those (including you) – who have such comfort. This was a beautiful expression.
Thank you.
Oh to be a coat, the wrapped around love kind. A beautiful poem!
Merci Jean-Jacques. Vous etes gentil.
C’est réciproque…et chapeau pour vos accomplissements, poétique et autres!
Merci. 😉
