It is my mother’s second
dying day.
I awaken, heart heavy,
to the house finch’s
happy song.
An accompanist,
as a spirit dances its
release
into eternity.
Your heartfelt poem made my eyes fill with tears… Beautiful imagery ~ may the pain of loss be surpassed by the bliss of eternity!
Thank you, Veronica. I appreciate your kind words.
So sorry for your heartache Shawn. I was so taken by the dichotomy between your feelings and the finch’s song. The imagery of the last sentence really hit me.
Thank you, Lesley.
