So often

what I think is a conversation about me

you think is a conversation about you.

My feelings

aren’t just feelings, they’re an attack.

But they’re not.

They belong to me

and they’re allowed to be

what they are.

I long for you to acknowledge

how I feel

what I wonder

what I want

isolated from your sense

of inadequacy.

I’m tired

tired

tired of your issue

always overshadowing

any of my concerns.

Mental illness

is annoyingly

narcissistic.

Please consider other points of view.

It isn’t always about you.

Really.

Sometimes it’s about me.

Thank you for this! It sounds so very familiar. 🙂

  2. So very true, and nowhere more apropos, than between any two people together, in a tight space.

  3. It should be about you. It’s your voice. Keep sharing.

  4. I loved this! Especially – Mental illness is annoyingly narcissistic! Almost a summary of the piece? Love your writing style. I will have to come back for more. Looking forward to Your new posts and checking out your older ones too!

Thanks for coming by to visit me!!! Always looking to meet new friends! An English Teacher?? Please be gentle with me on Your comments! LOL!

I never had a doubt that it is not about you 😀
