poem-distrust October 17, 2015

There was something.

There was something in that bombastic laugh

that set a tingle up my spine,

something not quite right that climbed out from behind your eyes,

incised the benefit of the doubt.

There was something that kept me holding back

long before your strange attack.

Perhaps my intuition,

just knew it wasn’t safe to trust?

    • I have a good one. Friends’ boyfriends I didn’t like, always let them down. (Often, the boyfriends I did like, were let down by my friends!) lol Guts are good. Chicken entrails not withstanding.

Brilliant ! I had to read it again to find the rhyme.

  5. There have been those I feel that I failed, and chances are they have continued to fail themselves. Still, here I am, teaching a new group.
